Challenge: Reduce the amount of products with low visibility and clicks (Zombies)
With its broad selection of premium bathroom products, Badkamerxxl operates in a highly competitive online marketplace where standing out can be difficult. Despite the variety and quality of its offerings, many of Badkamerxxl’s products underperformed in Performance Max (pMax) campaigns, receiving low impressions, clicks, and conversions.
A significant number of these “zombie” products —items that failed to engage consumers or attract clicks— had poorly optimized titles and descriptions, which limited their visibility in search results. This prevented Badkamerxxl from fully leveraging its extensive product range. To address this problem, SDIM sought a solution to transform these underperforming items by improving their product feed, making them more relevant and attractive to potential customers in Google’s shopping ecosystem.
Approach and implementation
The SDIM team, already experienced with using Producthero for many of their clients and having previously implemented the Labelizer strategy successfully for Badkamerxxl, decided to take a step further and implement the recently launched Products AI tool to enhance product titles, descriptions and other relevant attributes across more than 1,500 products within Badkamerxxl’s product feed. This optimization process focused on refining elements that influence product visibility and relevance in search results. The steps included:
- Product selection within Products AI: SDIM focused on products with low engagement metrics, aiming to revitalize items that were underperforming in terms of impressions, clicks, and conversions. To achieve this, they leveraged the advanced filtering options within Products AI to identify and prioritize these underperforming products.
- Automated optimization with Products AI: By using Products AI’s prompt-based optimization, SDIM updated titles and descriptions to reflect key product features, benefits, and relevant keywords, ensuring that each product entry became more search-friendly and appealing to potential customers. Thanks to the industry-specific templates in Products AI, the text was restructured for better readability and relevance, boosting discoverability and making products easier to find for consumers searching within related categories.
- Enhanced visibility and engagement: by leveraging the power of AI through Products AI, the optimized product feed now better reflects customer search intent, paving the way for previously underperforming items to gain visibility within pMax campaigns.
Results
After less than a month, the following results were achieved:
- +13.1% impressions increase
- +7.4% clicks increase

- Category-specific strategies: Implementing targeted optimisations for popular categories like shower systems, bathroom furniture, and taps, ensuring that titles and descriptions align with current search trends.
- Ongoing monitoring and adjustment: Regularly analysing the performance of optimized products and refining prompts within Products AI to stay aligned with market trends and seasonal shifts in demand.
